Internet Marketing Course – 4 Tips To Power Up Squidoo Lens Right For Effective Promotion
I previously wrote about how to make money online using Squidoo, which is a great and free tool available to the public. However, setting up a Squidoo lens right is crucial in driving traffic to your affiliate link or to your personal website.
Following are 4 tips to enhance the Power of Your Squidoo Lens.
1. Lens Creation Introduction
The Lens introduction is like a book content overview found on its back cover. Most people at the book stores would pick up a book, read the information on the back cover and place the book back without even flipping its pages if the overview of the book content is not captivating. Similarly, your Squidoo lens introduction either opens the door for your visitors or shut it permanently.
Keep your lens introduction brief and straight to the point. Make it as personal and natural as possible so it doesn’t sound like you are hard selling or simply offering a product review. It is important to share your personal experience (good and bad) and tell your visitors why they need the product you are offering. One of the most effective ways is to share the painful experience you had gone through and how the product or the website you are promoting helps you recover from the mistakes.
2. Craft Your Lens Title Thoughtfully
If you have done Article Marketing for some time, you will understand how an Article Title can make a world of difference in attracting the number of readers to click on your articles. The same goes with your Squidoo Lens title. Do not be hasty to pen the Title and the sub-title. Although the sub-title is optional, my recommendation is to use it because the Search Engines are going to take note of it.
One powerful way to optimize your Lens Title is to do a keyword research on the lens topic. Then skillfully plant your selected keywords onto your Lens Title as well as the sub-title.
3. Add Text Links to Your Lens
In your lens description, add hyperlinks to your selected keywords throughout the paragraphs in order to increase the chances of having your readers click on those links. You can use these links on your Squidoo lens description to direct your visitors to your affiliate product site or your personal website where you can build list or promote other services.
4. Add Modules
Squidoo has a huge list of modules which you can add to enhance the look and feel of your lens. These modules can be used to again promote your affiliate link or your personal website. Personally, I would recommend you add powerful modules such as RSS, Text, Polls, Amazon and Youtube. These should give you sufficient ammunition to promote your products. Do not make your lens pages too cluttered or it may put off your visitors.
